After Microsoft phased out the Nokia brand name on all Lumia devices references and announced that future devices would carry the Microsoft brand, the tech giant has launched the first Microsoft branded device.
The just launched Lumia 535 is the first device to drop the Nokia brand in favour of Microsoft, featuring the company’s name in the front and back as well as the logo at the back.
Microsoft Lumia 535 has been introduced in two variants; the 3G Single SIM and a Smart Dual SIM both featuring a 5-inch screen display, Windows Phone 8.1 and comes powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor.
Just like the Lumia 730 and Lumia 735, the new Microsoft device comes with a 5MP front-facing camera and is integrated with Skype and OneNote promising to offer Microsoft user experience at an affordable price.
When it comes to storage, the Microsoft Lumia 535 comes in more RAM capacity at 1GB, 8GB memory capacity, and allows Micro SD storage support of up to 128GB. The device also offers the additional 15GB free cloud storage on OneDrive.
In the same way as other Lumia devices, Microsoft Lumia 535 has been made colourful in bright green, bright orange, cyan, white, dark grey and black colours. Users can also accessorize their Lumia 535 with additional colourful covers.
The Lumia 535 will be joining the Lumia 530, as one of the low cost Quad Core smartphones currently available in the market pricing at about KSh 12,000.
