New phones are what we are all about. A very specific case has got to be the Samsung series that won ‘bets Smartphone’ Category in the GSM Awards.
This is funny because barely a month after the S3 wins an award, Samsung is already in line to launch a spanking new one just 6 days from today: The Samsung Galaxy S4. What does it have? An Excynos Octa (8 processors) for the non-US model and a quad-core for the US model. Kenya is a non-US market so Yaay! 8 cores! 1080 video resolution on a 5 inch screen and a 13 MP rear facing and a 2MP front facing pair of cameras. The S3 has a 8MP rear facing so this is definitely an improvement.

The Internet’s global coordinator voted Monday to allow the creation of website addresses ending in company names, enabling big firms to replace “.com” with their own brand.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) voted overwhelmingly in favour of the radical proposal at a meeting in Singapore despite fears that opening up new website suffixes could cause some confusion.
“This is the biggest change to domain names since the creation of ‘.com’ 26 years ago,” said Theo Hnarakis, chief executive of Melbourne IT Digital Brand Services, a California-based company that provides online branding advice.
Under the changes, businesses will no longer be restricted to the list of generic top level domains (gTLDs) that include .com, .net and .org when they apply to register a website address.
Industry observers say global giants such as Apple, Toyota and BMW, to cite examples from various regions, could be in the vanguard of launching websites with their own domain names ending in “.apple”, .”toyota” and “.bmw”. Read more »

It has been on the minds of quite the bunch of business minds for the past year or so on account of his statement that he would take medical leave of absence.
Though it’s unclear what the reason is for the medical leave, Jobs’ medical history includes a bout of pancreatic cancer and a liver transplant. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the earlier part of 2004 and even though he beat it, it kept taking shots at his overall health. He then underwent a liver transplant in 2009, and made a full recovery.
Back then Tim Cook, the company’s COO took over the running of day-to-day operations at the firm as is the case with the more recent case.
